welcome. after discovering how difficult (shouldn't say difficult, just time consuming) it was going to be to keep updating the workout section of my website for visitors. i thought it would be easier for people to ask questions and give comments in an online community type of environment.

so, welcome to the gamespeed blog. i'll keep posting my workouts from week to week and answer any quesitons people may have.

Hey Paul hopefully the pix helped out with the cuban press. As far as using the same weight on an exercise; I try to keep the weight on my multi-joint movements in a 30%-65% of my max. This allows me to move the bar at a rapid rate and apply great force output. This is the focus of these particular exercises and my personal lifting.
If you are looking to get a great workout in rougly 30 min. you can use the sample bodyweight workouts that I supply in my newsletter, or here is a sample of a great barbell complex that you can use.
You'll want to perform this in a circuit fashion with the barbell never leaving your hands. Keep the weight light to start to get a feel for the movement patterns.
deadlifts (from the ground)- 5 reps
upright rows - 5 reps
standing push press - 5 reps
back squats w/ a press behind the head - 5 reps
bent over rows - 5 reps
* rest 45 sec. to 1 min and repeat the circuit 5 to 10 times depending on your current conditioning levels. Each set of the circuit will total 25 reps and depending on the total sets completed your overall volume will change. Doesn't sound like much, but you'll feel it. Hope that helps.
